Yes, another Ninja Warrior post. Lots about Ninja Warrior and the CrossFit Games going on. We’re trying to keep you all updated on everything.
About half of the Cavers with spots in the trial have completed their runs. You’ll have to watch the show to see how people did, but it has been great to watch, cheer and groan along with the athletes. There have been spectacular falls, amazing saves and just good efficient runs. The crowd here has been fantastic. There is a staging area for competitors to wait for their turns and get warmed up. Think about what happens when you jam 120 or so folks who are the kind of people that would compete in a Ninja Warrior type course into a relatively small area, and give them things to climb on. Well, they climb, jump, swing, flip and so forth. Now the funny part is, repeatedly the production team has had to come and stop various activities because they felt it was unsafe. Excuse me? You invited us here to run a large scale obstacle course and you think vaulting over this rail is unsafe? Really? Oh, and did you expect anything else?
Our own Travis Furlanic has not yet run. With a who’s who of Ninja Warrior present, Travis, David Campbell, Bryan Orosco, Bret Steffensen, Ryan Stratus, Brian Kretch and others all came to compete and cheer others on. Ryan Stratus is actually competing in Miami, but wanted to just come and be here for this. He is truly a class act. Great guy, and just supportive of others.
We are mid-way through week two of the 2012 CrossFit Games Open. Our team is in good standings. I’ve been able to see people’s performances on WOD #2 remotely, and I’m looking forward to seeing more postings. We’ve even got a good chance of a couple efforts happening down here.
