The Cave‘s Men’s Competitive Gymnastics Team

Program Overview

The Cave has always been a big proponent for men’s gymnastics. Our boys gymnastics program has continued to grow and thrive through the years. The athleticism and strength developed by competitive gymnastics is unrivaled. The boys will compete in the 6 MAG (Men’s Artistic Gymnastics) events, Floor, Pommel Horse, Rings, Vault, Parallel Bars, and High Bar. These are the 6 events seen in men’s gymnastics at the Olympics.

Our boys team competes in the USAG MAG program. Competition begins at level 3 for those interested in that path. Compulsory levels 3-6 involve athletes performing pre-written routines in competition that are designed to develop the skills and strength required for higher level gymnastics. Level 7+ are the “optional” levels in which each athlete is allowed to create their own routine in each event. The Cave fields athletes in multiple “invitational” competitions in the season from January-March leading up to state, regional, and national championships in the March-April timeframe. It is not uncommon to see Cave athletes on the podium at these high level championships.
