The Cave‘s Women’s Competitive Gymnastics Team

Program Overview
Our women’s gymnastics team trains athletes ranging from developmental level 2 athletes through level 10. We have multiple competitive tracks to allow participation for athletes with varying levels of availability to train. Our athletes include many state and regional champions. From humble beginnings with a few athletes competing in 2013, The Cave’s women’s gymnastics team has become well known throughout the state and region

Compulsory levels 3-5 compete in the fall, while optional levels 6-10 and Xcel compete in the late winter into spring. All athletes compete in the 4 women’s events, floor exercise, beam, uneven bars, and vault as seen in the Olympics. If you are interested in competitive gymnastics please follow up with our office and they can help direct you to the appropriate staff.

Xcel is a program designed to allow athletes to compete with fewer training hours than the time required for the developmental program. These athletes perform optional routines that can showcase their strengths. Athletes can use Xcel as a stepping stone toward the developmental program, or as a competitive outlet throughout their gymnastics career. Xcel athletes compete in the late winter into spring.

Compulsory levels 3-5 consist of developmental routines that are the same for all athletes at their specified level. These routines are designed to help athletes develop key skills as they progress toward the upper levels of the sport. Compulsory levels 3-5 compete in the fall.

Optional levels 6-10 consist of routines put together by the athlete and their coaches to showcase their strengths. These levels do have specified requirements on each event that the athletes must fulfill. Optional levels 6-10 compete in the late winter into spring.
