Changes to Marin’s Operation Orders

As you have likely heard, Marin County is pre-emptively restricting some businesses due to a spike in Covid-19 cases. There is a large increase in cases happening throughout the country, and there is some increase in Marin, though the increase is modest. After a very long period of decline following the peak in July, Marin has seen some increase in cases and hospitalizations.

As a result, Marin HHS has pulled back on some of the guidelines. This means that as of Tuesday, November 17, gyms can operate indoors at only 10% capacity. Fortunately, at this time, this retraction will not affect our current class schedule as we are not exceeding 10% capacity and have some room for additions within that limit.

Note that in 7 months of operating under Covid-19 constraints, there has not been a single case of transmission traceable to our facility. We had 1 confirmed case present in the gym, but diligence to our protocols prevented any spread. There have been a few studied cases of transmission in gym settings. These studies brought clarity that air flow, and plenty of outside air flow, is often cited when considering the safety of indoor exercise. With our large roll up doors and the prevailing Corte Madera air currents, we have fantastic air turn over inside the gym.

We are continually evaluating our protocols and facility to ensure the safest operations possible. We will continue to put our efforts toward the measures that studies and the experts have deemed beneficial.

Again, at this time there will be no changes to our classes or schedule at The Cave. All classes will continue to operate. Any changes due to rain or other external events will be communicated directly to affected students and families.
